Who we are?
SWACHH (Swachhata Augmentation through Corporate Helping Hands) is a crowd-funding platform to spearhead involvement of private sector in city level initiatives of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM). The platform aims to connect city municipal commissioners with private individuals and companies who are interested in funding and getting involved in city level SBM projects of building toilets and solid waste management infrastructure/services.
The need for such a platform arises because central government funding for city level sanitation and cleanliness projects is sometimes short of the actual field requirement of cities and the cities are required to raise the gap funding from a combination of other sources such as private sector participation, beneficiary share, user charges, Swachh Bharat Kosh, corporate social responsibility, etc.
SWACHH aims to make the Swachh Bharat Mission a true Jan Andolon, by ensuring people’s actual ownership/stake in sanitation and cleanliness projects, through voluntary financial contributions, either as individuals or as corporates entities
- Encourage private sector participation in ULB initiatives of SBM
- Attract private sector capital and expertise to bridge gaps in funding of SBM
- Expedite SBM targets and provide a transparent monitoring mechanism
- To provide a hassle free process for corporates to choose, invest in and monitor the projects
SWACHH has a Global dashboard which lists the projects from conception to completion stage, showcased with stage-wise progress of projects and utilization of funds, all of which is in public domain.
